We train all breeds of dogs! All of our dog training programs are very easily tailored from a miniature maltipoo to a great dane.  There are not many breeds of dogs that have not come through Cornerstone K9 for training.  Our trainers are Pros! They know how to communicate with best success from the smallest dog to largest.

We get this question a lot! Yes, your dog will establish a bond with their trainer. Which is exactly what you want to happen! Your dog creating a bond with their trainer, says there is trust there and is a product of good quality training.  But, there is no stronger bond than the one between a dog and their owner.  Your dog will be overly excited to see you when they come home! 

Cornerstone K9 dog trainers are literally the most experienced dog trainers in North Carolina.  Each trainer is sought out by Cornerstone K9 based on their education, training experience, time as a dog trainer, and training methods.  Our trainers must have excellent people and dog skills, be able to troubleshoot the most complex training issues, and do so with absolute patience and understanding for the dog.  All of our trainers have years of experience and come from all over the country, as well as have attended some of the top dog training schools out there.

Our training approach is not that hard handed old school method.  Far from it.  We focus on teaching the dog new behaviors by a truly balanced method. We believe in play and earning trust with your dog in the beginning of training. Then moving into teaching new behaviors once that trust has been earned by our trainers.  We don’t believe in harsh dog training techniques, and believe there is no reason for treating any dog unfairly to just teach them something new.  Trainers who train like this do so out of lack of experience in how a dog learns.  There are rewards and corrections. The difference is, our trainers have a very clear understanding of what is appropriate and what is not. We treat our client dogs as they are our own, and we adore our own dogs! We have made our process for getting started training very simple for our future and current clients.  You will first give us a call, send us an email, or fill out an interest form on this website.  Our sales person, who also has years of experience training dogs, will respond to you quickly and get you started.

The training programs are completely dependent on your lifestyle and what the issues you are having with your dog. We offer single lessons, lesson packages, 2 & 3 week puppy programs, 2 & 3 week adult programs, custom programs at various lengths for clients that want more specific training, and 4-6+ week aggression and reactivity training.

We stand by our training 100%. The difference between Cornerstone K9 and other companies is that after your dog finishes training, they are truly in the Cornerstone K9 family.  If you have any issues at all after your dog comes home, call us.  We will send your dog's trainer out to you very quickly and help you work through whatever the issue is you are having.  Those free refresher training sessions are something you get for the life of your dog.  Most companies will give you a couple free follow ups, but if you keep having issues, they will blame you or start charging you for private lessons. Cornerstone K9 is not like the other guys.  We stand by our training 100% and are always there to help you and your dog on your journey together.

Consultations are always free with Cornerstone K9.  The only time a consultation is mandatory is if your dog has any reactivity issues, or shows signs of aggression. 

All you have to do is fill out the form on this website for a free consultation!  We will send out one of our trainers to meet you and your dog.  At the consults we want to hear everything about your dog. We want to gather as much information as possible about the issues you are having, and we want to know what your goals are with your dog. 

90% of the time we can figure that out over a phone call.  The other 10% of the time, we need a consultation to make sure your dog is going into the right program for the goals you have for your pup, and the behaviors your dog is demonstrating. 

Cornerstone K9 has been in business for just over 3 years.  We are not a franchise and have been serving NC for that entire time.  Specifically, Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville, Sanford, and surrounding cities.  We have sent our trainers to Charlotte and as far as the NC coast to train new clients dogs!

Customizing programs is something we started on day one.  Our clients love that we do that for them. Usually when something is customized, it's more expensive. With Cornerstone K9, when a program is customized it is a cheaper option.  That's why we started customizing programs, to try and make high quality dog training affordable to those that couldn’t afford it before. We have also customized programs for dogs who are coming to train with us that are blind or deaf.

We take a wide variety of forms of payment. Cash, Credit Card, Bank Transfer, and PayPal Credit.  All of our programs allow you to pay as you go. There is no fee for that, and all of our clients love that option.  There is only a deposit to get started training, then your final balance is due 3 days before your dog comes home. We make it easy for you!
