MEET THE TRAINERS

Jeff Allen

Cornerstone K9 Owner/Trainer

Hi, I’m Jeff…. I started working and training pet dogs in 2010, a year after I was introduced to the dog sport of PSA (Protection Sports Association). Since that time, I have been training pet dogs with a wide variety of needs, and competing with my own dogs in PSA. I have decoyed at Regional and National level events and also competed with my own dogs at that level. I own 3 crazy Belgian Malinois that keep me on my toes. Murphy, Silas, and Bucky. Murphy, I have titled in PSA (Dog Sport) placing 3rd at PSA Nationals in 2019, and closing out his PSA2 in 2021.. In 2022 Murphy was South Regional Vice Champion for PSA3. Silas has French Ring titles (earned before I had him), and a PDC earned while he’s been with me. Bucky earned his PDC in PSA and is now used by Cornerstone K9 as a Police Demo dog.

Murphy has since retired from PSA and is now a bat dog for MILB team the Winston-Salem Dash and ONSL team the Sanford Spinners. He's now known as, Murphy the Bat Dog!

Now let’s talk Cornerstone K9. Training dogs has always been a passion of mine, it just always puts a smile on my face. I can say I am the luckiest person alive, training dogs have never felt like work. I love seeing dogs learn and accomplish new behaviors, and their owners coming along with them on that journey. Cornerstone K9 has been around for me for some time now, and made official in 2021. Myself and my trainers are dedicated to you and your pup. We pride ourselves on returning a well trained pup back to you. And making sure you are very informed throughout the whole training process.

Cornerstone K9 Sales

Hi! My name is Gina Allen and I am the Sales and Trainer Manager for Cornerstone K9. My husband, Jeff, and I started this company about 4 years ago and it has been an absolute blessing ever since. I was a REALTOR full time and would fill in periodically for sales and trained dogs for Cornerstone K9.

In January of this year (2024), Jeff asked me to fill in temporarily for sales until he found someone new…. well, I’m still here! He decided that I was the best fit for this position and begged me to step back from Real Estate and do this full time. So, I did! Now, we are running Cornerstone K9 together and couldn’t be happier! I truly believe this is how it was meant to be. We work very well as a team and have grown this company into more than we could’ve ever imagined!

We currently have 9 amazing trainers and are adding more each month to try and keep up with the immense growth we are experiencing. A true blessing from God!We are all passionate about dogs and helping to improve their lives with their families.

Whether you’re looking for basic obedience, advanced obedience or need specialized training - please give us a call! I am more than happy to answer any questions you have and will give advice to get you and your pup on the right path!

Karissa

Cornerstone K9 Trainer

I recently separated from the Air Force after serving for 10 years. I started my career in the military in 2013 as Security Forces and moved to Mountain Home, ID. From there I pursued my dream of working in the Military Working Dog world and graduated the school in 2015.

I spent my handler career in Colorado Springs, CO at Peterson AFB. Here, I deployed overseas and completed over a dozen POTUS/VPOTUS missions with my dual purpose dogs Roky, Dano, and Ben. My last three years in the Air Force, I dedicated my time to my students as a Ground Combat Readiness Training Course Instructor. Additionally, I specialized as a Military Working Dog Team Trainer.

Throughout this time I took a deep dive into Dog Psychology and Behavior and Learning. Which now helps me better understand how to take on each dog I train with patience and understanding In my free time, I enjoy everything outdoors and anything adventurous. This includes hiking, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, bow hunting, camping, and everything in between. I have 10 animals that includes 3 pet dogs, 1 retired MWD, 1 working dog, 4 cats, a mule and a quarter horse all on big piece of land.

I look forward to training your pup and helping you have the best relationship with them.

Hi! My name is Kaitlin and I grew up in Garner, NC. I own two Pitbulls named Riley and Kane. I have had a passion for animals from a young age.

I started riding and working with horses when I was 11, as well as owning many different pets of my own. After that I started working with dogs and quickly realized I was most passionate about training dogs!

I truly enjoy helping clients and their dogs achieve their goals. It is such a rewarding job to see each dog improve and become the best pups they can be! I look forward to my job each and every day.

Erin

Cornerstone K9 Trainer

Hey! My name is Erin! I've been a professional dog trainer for about 18 years now.

I've spent most of my life traveling all over the country interning for different trainers and learning all types of training and methods. I was a head trainer for about 10 years before I graduated from National K9 in Ohio in 2016.

Then on my dog training journey, I completed a yearlong internship with Logan Haus Kennels in west Virginia working with military/working dogs and learning detection training in 2019. I have a 12yr old Border Collie Aussie mix named Dodge, who herds geese.

A 7yr old Belgian Malinois named Rebel who trains for PSA (Protection Sport Association) and does narcotic detection. A 3yr old foster dog named War who's half Dutch Shepherd half Bandog, and a 16 week old Beauceron puppy named Sixx who's hopefully going to be doing SAR (Search and Rescue) when he's full grown.

The psychology of dogs has fascinated me for most of my life, and I'm constantly furthering my education. I’ve trained a wide range of dogs over the years. From small to large pet dogs, to working K9s!

At this point I pretty much speak dog, and in my world, dogs are life!

Martin

Cornerstone K9 Trainer

I grew up in humble beginnings, gaining familiarity with dogs from a very early age. After graduating high school, although I had several University scholarship offers for academics and Track&Field, I yearned for a higher calling and enlisted in the U.S. Army. I started my Army career in 2014 as an Intelligence Analyst in Maryland. Longing for an opportunity to work with dogs as I did growing up, I pursued my dream of becoming a Military Working Dog Handler in 2018. I spent my handler career in multiple theaters of operations, supporting Tier 1 units and the U.S. Secret Service. I did so with my dual purpose dogs Bravo, Jerry, and Arkansas. As I rose threw the ranks to Staff Sergeant, I developed invaluable skills in leadership and advanced dog training- especially that of high-energy working breeds. I train anything from a puppy rottweiler to a reactive 250lb St. Bernard. Anything from potty training to Sport Dog training, I'm your guy. I have a very solid foundational knowledge of Dog Psychology and Behavior and Learning, which helps me better take on each dog I train with patience and understanding. In my free time, I enjoy working out, training in Muy Thai/MMA, working in my Jeep, precision marksmanship, camping, and training sport dogs. I have 5 dogs (Aussie, Dutch Shepherd, Belgian Malinois, Cane Corso, and even a tiny Shih Tzu) in NC. I look forward to training your pup and helping you have the best relationship with them.

Hannah

Cornerstone K9 Trainer

Hi, my name is Hannah and I grew up near Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have always had a natural affinity with animals - I was always befriending the most skittish animal at the petting zoo, making friends with the pets first at family and friends homes, and just generally acting like a Disney princess growing up.

I began my post high school educational career with a focus on pre-vet in which I gained a lot of information on animal husbandry. This experience showed me that I much preferred training and caring for dogs, not providing medical advice. I dropped out, helped my family adopt their first dog, and started working for a local doggy day care. And well, as people say, the rest is history!

I followed the trail down into dog training, dog behavior, dog psychology and soaked up every little piece of information I could get my hands on. After about 2 years of back to back hands on experiences, I attended Kennelwood Academy for Professional Dog Trainers, where I graduated from in December, 2024! There I learned all about working and pet dogs! While Cornerstone K9 is my first official job as a dog trainer, I have just under 5 years of experience working with pet dogs and their owners. I’m also deep diving into dog sports with my personal dogs - Kyro an 11 month old Dutch Shepherd and Bonnie a 10 month old Black Lab - to gain more experience with working dogs before I begin training with working and sports dogs on a professional level.

Dog training as a profession is invigorating, mentally challenging, and ever changing. Helping dogs reach their full potential, strengthening dog and owner relationships, and bringing harmony to pet homes is incredibly rewarding! So excited to share my passion with you while working with you and your pup!

Sherman

Cornerstone K9 Trainer

My career in canine training began in my youth with my first working dog, a German Shepherd named Harley. Growing up on a farm, my family raised German Shepherds and Rottweilers, fostering my passion for working-line dogs and developing a strong work ethic. In my teenage years, I also gained experience with horses, learning various equestrian skills.

After a brief departure from animal-related work in early adulthood, I returned to canine training. I started by cleaning kennels part-time while working at a BMW dealership, which quickly led me to pursue canine training full-time. I advanced from kennel cleaner to facility manager, overseeing 14 detection dogs for major events in Ohio, where I also served as a handler.

My responsibilities grew to include selecting, training, and pairing green dogs from Europe with police departments nationwide. I trained both single and dual-purpose canines and instructed their handlers. Additionally, we imported, trained, and placed personal protection dogs, service dogs, and family companions across the country.

In November 2023, my family and I experienced a devastating house fire, losing our home and 17 working dogs. In 2024, I honored their memory by competing in 17 PSA trials, including PSA Worlds, and became a certified USDA transporter to support this journey.

During a transport to North Carolina, I connected with Jeff and the Cornerstone K9 family. Their mission deeply resonated with my partner and me, leading us to relocate to Raleigh. We are committed to raising our daughters here, rebuilding our lives, and continuing our work with renewed purpose.

James

Cornerstone K9 Trainer

Hey, my name is James. I am a canine trainer and former handler with more than a decade of experience training working dogs in detection, patrol, tracking, obedience, and behavior modification. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with several canine training companies across the country, as well as a short assignment at a major university where I was involved in advanced detection research. I’ve also handled two Explosive Detection Canines, deploying to numerous high-profile events nationwide while maintaining certification through the International Police Working Dog Association.

In addition to working dogs, I have extensive experience training pet dogs and their owners, focusing on skills ranging from basic obedience to advanced off-leash control. I frequently work with dogs that struggle with socialization and aggression issues, helping them and their families build stronger, more trusting relationships.

Beyond training, I’ve served as a board member and trainer for two rescue dog non-profit organizations, supporting rescue dogs, service dog placement, and community outreach programs. I also volunteer with local shelters and rescue groups, conducting temperament testing and providing training to improve adoption outcomes.

After recently leaving my law enforcement career with the State of North Carolina, I’m excited to be part of the Cornerstone K9 team and to fully pursue my passion for canine training. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife, Lisa, and our four dogs—Cane, Ranger, Ted, and Harley—as well as our two cats, Halo and Maverick, who keep us all in line at home

Aggressive Dog Training Raleigh

My dog developed some aggressive traits and I sent him off to Megan for a 4 week training course. He came home so much better than before and she was able to teach me all the exercises and tools to set him up for success. It was also extremely helpful because whenever I had a question on things, she was available via text within just an hour or so and we could schedule a phone call if needed.

House Washing in Greenville SC

I am blown away by how clean my house looks. I thought we were going to have to repaint it! We hired Revel Pressure Washing to come in and power wash our house. They explained to us what pressure washing was and were very thorough with the quoting process. I am very pleased with the final outcome!

Pressure Washing in Greenville

My driveway was a disgusting algae covered eyesore, and frankly it was a safety hazard when it rained. Justin from Revel Pressure Washing got me a reasonable quote, and even convinced me to seal the driveway afterwards. It looks amazing, and with the sealant, I won't have to do this again for years.

Gutter Cleaning in Spartangburg

SAVED ME A TON OF MONEY!! Revel initially came by to give me a quote on my driveway, but asked to look at the house and gutters as well. Justin found my gutters were completely compacted and causing water to seem into my roof. He took care of everything, and save a potentially expensive insurance claim.
